Strangely enough, just before the beginning of the summer we began experiencing sporadic PoE failure on a main distribution switch (Picture 1) that ended up requiring a replacement chassis. The unfortunate demise and replacement of the faulty Cisco 4506 switch forced us to label all the cables coming from the patch panels with their corresponding switch port (Picture 2).
